Logo rights and removal
The JCEDC Business Directory displays business logos so visitors can easily recognize listings. This page explains how JCEDC republishes logos and how owners or third parties can request that an image be removed.
How JCEDC uses your logo
When a business uploads a logo, the owner or authorized representative confirms they own the image or have a license to use it. JCEDC is granted a non-exclusive right to republish that logo for the purposes of the directory:
- On the public business listing card and detail page.
- In directory search results, category pages, and neighborhood pages.
- In link previews when a listing is shared on social media or messaging apps.
- In directory-related emails to the submitter and staff, such as approval and preview notices.
JCEDC may resize, compress, or crop the image to fit the directory layout while keeping the logo recognizable. JCEDC does not sell the logo or use it in paid advertising outside the directory.
If you are the business owner
You can ask JCEDC to remove your logo at any time. You do not need to give a reason, but providing one helps staff process the request quickly.
Request removal by email
Email directory@jcedc.org and include:
- Business name and listing reference number if you have it.
- The email or phone number JCEDC has on file for the listing.
- A brief statement that you want the logo removed.
If you have an active update link for your listing, you can also open it and tick “Remove the logo currently on this listing” in the logo section. Staff review the request and remove the image from the public listing and storage.
If you are a third party
If you believe a listing uses your trademark, copyrighted image, or another logo without permission, you can report it to JCEDC. We review every complaint and remove the image promptly when appropriate.
What to include
- Your name and contact email or phone number.
- The business name or URL of the listing in question.
- A description of the image and why it should be removed.
- If you are the rights holder, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
Send the report to directory@jcedc.org.
How long removal takes
JCEDC aims to remove logos from public listings and delete the stored file within one business day of receiving a complete request. You may receive a short confirmation email once the request is processed.
