Frequently asked questions
A quick guide to using the JCEDC Business Directory as a resident, visitor, or shopper.
- How do I find a business?
- Open the directory and type what you are looking for — a business name, a product, a service, or a category. Results update as you type, and you can open any card for hours, contact details, and directions without leaving the page.
- Can I browse by category or neighborhood?
- Yes. The home page lists every category and every neighborhood or ward with listings, and the directory page has filters for both. Combine a category with a neighborhood to see, for example, only bakeries downtown.
- How do listings get added?
- JCEDC reviews and adds every listing. Staff confirm the details with the business, and every listing is approved before it appears here — nothing publishes automatically.
- Something in a listing looks wrong. What do I do?
- Open the business page and use "Report incorrect information." Tell us what looks off — a moved address, a disconnected phone number, changed hours — and JCEDC staff follow up and correct the listing.
- Can I save businesses I want to come back to?
- Yes. Use the star on any listing to highlight it, then open Highlighted businesses to see them all. Highlights are kept in your own browser, so nothing is shared with JCEDC.
- How do I contact JCEDC?
- Email directory@jcedc.org. Replies come from a person on the JCEDC team, usually within a few business days.
